Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with electronic medical records, and a solid understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to minimize wait times.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using Accuro.
  • Handle phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and take messages as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Process patient information and verify insurance details prior to appointments.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Educate patients about office procedures and assist them with forms or documentation.
  • Perform duties such as weights, heights, urinalysis, EKG, and spirometry, supply organization, and sterilizing equipment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting or completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program is preferred
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and administrative processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate phone systems effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • A compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
