As part of our summer internship program, the successful candidate will be exposed to all areas of the business, working directly with senior members of the broking, actuarial and catastrophe modeling teams with on-the-job training in analytics and modelling.

Analytics Responsibilities Include

• Supporting senior actuarial staff with data preparation for analysis
• Assist in building databases and reporting tools
• Work with the actuarial team to develop stochastic models and perform reinsurance optimization analyses to evaluate and compare different reinsurance pricing and strategies
• Assist in special projects and research efforts of the actuarial team
• Study towards the actuarial qualification
• Acting as a technical resource for Brokers and Account Managers, where needed
• Assist with the production of high-quality presentations, submissions, and documentation
• Develop a detailed understanding of the client's business, as part of developing tailor-made solutions to assist the Account Handlers

Upon successful completion of the internship program, the intern will acquire valuable knowledge of the reinsurance industry while developing technical, analytical, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, building a strong foundation in one's career in the insurance and/or financial services industries.

The Person - Experience & Skills

• Completing third year of University Degree – Actuarial, Mathematics, Data Science or Other
• Demonstrable interest in insurance and commitment to actuarial qualification
• Exceptional analytical skills
• First-class interpersonal skills, including relationship building and actuarial skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Exceptional time management, organization, and prioritization skills
• Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
