Job Summary:

FS8 Collingwood is seeking an experienced and inspiring Head Trainer to lead our coaching team and deliver an exceptional in-studio experience during a part-time maternity leave contract beginning November 2024. This role combines coaching, leadership, and studio administration and is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

FS8 is a boutique fitness concept combining Pilates, Tone, and Yoga into one full-body, low-impact training experience. FS8 stands for Functional Style 8, representing the brand's eight training pillars: mobility, posture, strength, balance, flexibility, control, endurance, and mindfulness.

FS8 is part of The FIT Group (including F45 Training & Vaura Pilates) and has expanded globally across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. FS8 Collingwood is a premium studio where members feel supported, motivated, and inspired.

Contract Details:

• Part-time maternity leave contract
• Start date: November 2024
• Hours: 15–30 hours per week (mix of coaching + admin)
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Unlimited access to FS8 classes

Key Responsibilities:

Coaching & Member Experience

• Teach Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Tone, and Yoga classes
• Provide safe, effective cueing and modifications for all fitness levels
• Ensure proper and safe use of equipment (Reformer, Springboard, Magic Circle, dumbbells, etc.)

Team Leadership

• Support training, mentoring, and development of the coaching team
• Lead clear communication and uphold FS8 coaching and brand standards

Studio Operations

• Assist with opening and closing the studio
• Support scheduling, class coverage, and daily studio flow
• Maintain studio cleanliness, equipment readiness, and organization
• Participate in studio promotions or community events as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

• Mat + Reformer certification
• CPR & First Aid certified
• Experience teaching apparatus-based group classes (6+ participants)
• Strong communication and customer engagement skills

Preferred:

• 450-hour comprehensive Pilates certification (Mat, Reformer, Springboard)
• Ability to teach Yoga, Trigger Point, or Foam Roller (or willingness to learn)
