Key Responsibilities:
- Mix, match, and apply paints, primers, and clear coats using spray guns and other equipment.
- Perform precise color matching and blending for flawless repairs.
- Inspect surfaces for defects, making adjustments before and after painting.
- Demonstrate passion for prepping your own work, ensuring surfaces are ready for painting and contributing to efficient shop flow.
- Maintain painting equipment and ensure a clean, safe booth environment.
- Collaborate with prep technicians and team members, pitching in to help wherever needed to keep projects on track.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as an auto body painter.
- Expertise in paint mixing, spraying techniques, and color matching.
- Proficiency with water-based and solvent-based paints.
- Certification (e.g., I-CAR or equivalent) is an asset.
- Passion for hands-on preparation and maintaining a steady workflow.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced shop.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
