About Us

General Lee Aviation (GLA) and Wetaskiwin Air Services (WAS) are an integrated aviation organization in Central Alberta, providing Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) services, Flight Training Unit operations, simulator instruction, and third- party aircraft maintenance.

Established in 1975, Wetaskiwin Air Services has over 50 years of operational history with a strong emphasis on safety, quality workmanship, accountability, and a respectful, professional work environment.

Position Fit

This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys working with people, supporting aviation training operations, and contributing to the flight school's day-to-day organizing and online presence. The social media objectives are to increase and promote student retention, GLA online presence and third party maintenance services.

In the event you are well suited for reception duties, but do not have a background in social media, GLA would adapt the reception duties and hours, to ensure we can hire a casual position for Social Media responsibilities.

Responsibilities Front Desk & Student Support

  • Greet students, instructors, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer phones, route calls, and respond to general inquiries
  • Support student check-ins, bookings, and general administrative requests
  • Maintain and Provide office cleaning for a clean, organized, and professional reception, kitchen and employee common areas

Administrative Support

  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars
  • Perform data entry, filing, document preparation, and basic proofreading
  • Maintain accurate records while respecting confidentiality
  • Assist with basic bookkeeping or invoicing tasks as required

Social Media & Marketing Support

  • Create and post basic social media content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook (Meta), and LinkedIn
  • Assist with scheduling posts and monitoring engagement
  • Maintain a consistent tone and visual style aligned with the flight school's brand
  • Capture and share appropriate day-to-day content (events, aircraft, student milestones, training activities)
  • Assist with basic reporting on social media performance

Additional Duties

  • Support instructors and management with general office and operational tasks
  • If dispatch or flight-following duties are assigned, required company-specific training must be completed prior to performing these duties

Qualifications Required

  • Previous experience in reception, administration, or customer service
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Comfortable using computers and office software (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer-focused attitude

Assets

  • Experience with social media content creation or management
  • Familiarity with Canva or basic video editing tools
  • Experience in aviation, education, or other regulated environments

Working Conditions

  • Part-time, in-person role at a flight school
  • Fast-paced operational environment with frequent student interaction

Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Internship / Co-op

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
