The Role
AMD is seeking a skilled and security-focused Software Development Engineer to join our team and drive secure development lifecycle (SDL) activities across our products. In this role, you will integrate security principles into design, development, validation, and deployment processes. You will work closely with engineering, product management, and security teams to ensure our products are resilient against threats and compliant with internal and industry security standards.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software security and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to building secure and resilient software systems. You communicate effectively and enjoy working cross-functionally to solve complex security challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and security teams to align on secure product development.
- Conduct software-specific threat modeling and risk assessments.
- Participate in secure code and design reviews to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Identify and incorporate automated security tools to maintain security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design and develop software tools to help scale SDL activities across AMD.
- Ensure software meets relevant security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, FIPS EU CRA).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in software design and development, with a focus on security.
- Strong understanding of secure software development principles, including secure coding, authentication, authorization, and cryptographic practices.
- Experience with software threat modeling and security validation techniques.
- Familiarity with secure development lifecycle frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with automated security tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA, fuzzing).
- Python and C/C++ coding skills are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Interest in AI/ML
- Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
