Position Overview

As an Equipment Coordinator, you will support new and existing marine construction yard and projects. This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, budgeting, utilization and reliability of a marine construction equipment fleet. The position will deal with day to day as well as long term issues related to an equipment fleet. The position's main focus will be to improve equipment reliability as well as implement, monitor, audit, and manage preventative maintenance programs and equipment repair, maintenance, and upgrade projects including repowers and dry dockings.

This position is located in Hamilton, ON.

Responsibilities
  • Champion the company safety program and safe work practices in all activities.

  • Assist in preparation and review of Work Plans and related safety and planning paperwork. Preparing shift/daily or weekly reports

  • Completion of daily hourly employee time entry

  • Procurement of temporary and permanent materials

  • Support the Yard Manager in the following:

  • Evaluate available equipment repair options.

  • Assist in developing overall project logistics including on time procurement.
  • Set and monitor budgets, production goals, and schedules.
  • Work with Superintendents, and Foremen to plan and schedule major equipment projects.
  • Work with Superintendents to continually develop the company's maintenance procedures and standards.
Qualifications
  • Has obtained an undergraduate AS/ BS degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Construction Mgmt.

  • 0-2 years of experience

  • Must possess a good technical foundation and strong work ethic

  • The ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels is required

  • Willingness and ability to work a minimum of a 40-hour work week Mon – Fri with overtime as needed

  • Experience with crane, floating equipment and heavy machinery is a plus

  • Knowledge of MS Office Products

  • Experience with scheduling software is considered an asset (P6, MS Projects)

Base Compensation: $77,000/yr - $90,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
