POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a creative, analytical, and detail-oriented Prompt Engineer to design, test, and refine text-based instructions (prompts) that guide generative AI models in producing accurate, relevant, and useful outputs. This role bridges the gap between human intent and machine capabilities, helping AI systems understand and respond effectively to real-world tasks from writing and coding to customer support and product descriptions.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prompt Design: Create clear, concise, and context-rich prompts to elicit specific and high-quality responses from AI systems.
  • Optimization & Testing: Experiment with prompt variations to improve AI performance, accuracy, and relevance across different use cases.
  • AI Understanding: Tailor prompts based on the capabilities and limitations of various generative AI models.
  • Collaboration: Work with product managers, developers, and data scientists to integrate prompt engineering into practical applications.
  • Documentation: Develop prompt libraries, usage guidelines, and best practices for internal and external teams.
  • Monitoring & Feedback: Evaluate AI outputs for tone, usefulness, and alignment with user intent, and iterate based on findings.
  • Research: Stay informed on advancements in prompt engineering, NLP, and generative AI technologies.


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or related fields. Degrees in Linguistics, Communication, or Psychology are also valued.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and natural language processing (NLP) concepts.
  • Experience with generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI's GPT, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini).
  • Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript) preferred.
  • Experience with version control tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Creativity in approaching problem-solving and optimizing AI-driven outputs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
