THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Perform pre-trip, enroute, post trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment
  • Ensure cargo is secured prior to departure
  • Shunting, pick-up/delivery of fresh/frozen/ dry materials etc. Piller's, external warehouses and customers
  • Responsible for filling out driver's daily log
  • Reporting food safety issues to Supervisor to report to QA immediately
  • Work in a safe manner, in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act by reporting all hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor
  • Follow all prescribed SOPs, rotation schedules, HACCP and GMP procedures
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Must be flexible to provide coverage for afternoon/ evening shifts

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Ontario AZ license with clean CVOR & abstract
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of commercial driving experience
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Must be able to provide weekend coverage as needed
  • Refrigerated truck experience is an asset
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven history demonstrating puntuality, reliability and successfully working on a team
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment; able to perform some heavy repetitive lifting (50lbs)
  • Forklift and Walkie certifications are considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of HACCP regulations
