Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This leadership position requires strong organizational skills, team management abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management principles. Bilingual skills and prior supervisory experience are highly valued to help foster an inclusive and efficient store environment.
Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and visual presentation
- Support sales initiatives through effective marketing and promotional strategies
- Lead and supervise store staff, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and staffing to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and courtesy
- Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping to maintain accuracy
- Participate in purchasing decisions and pricing strategies to maximize profitability
- Conduct recruiting efforts to attract talented team members and facilitate interviewing processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and store procedures
- Collaborate with upper management on budgeting, sales targets, and marketing plans
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or sales management roles with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks
- Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing techniques, and purchasing processes
- Demonstrated organizational skills with effective time management capabilities
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff
- Ability to manage budgets and perform basic math calculations accurately
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically
