About Belwood Lodge and Camp

Belwood Lodge and Camp is a welcoming and inclusive summer camp dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities. We focus on creating a supportive, fun, and empowering environment where campers/lodgers can thrive, build confidence, and make lifelong friendships.

Position Summary

Camp Counsellors are the heart of Belwood Lodge and Camp. As a Counsellor, you'll live and work alongside campers, ensuring their safety, well-being, and enjoyment throughout their stay. You'll facilitate activities, assist with daily living needs, and help create unforgettable camp memories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision for campers/lodgers in daily routines and camp activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging camp atmosphere
  • Assist campers/lodgers with personal care as needed (training provided)
  • Lead and participate enthusiastically in camp programs and events
  • Work collaboratively with fellow staff to ensure camper/lodger safety and satisfaction
  • Uphold Belwood Lodge and Camp's values of respect, inclusion, and compassion

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18+
  • Standard first aid & CPR (required)
  • Criminal background check (required)
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and team-oriented
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities (an asset but not required)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and have fun

Rate of Pay and Bonus Pay

  • Rate of Pay: $550.00 per week + 4% vacation pay.
  • Bonus Pay: $50.00 per week of completed contract. (not eligible if employee resigns or is terminated)
