Job Description
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Customer Service, the Customer Service Kiosk Associate (Casual) is responsible for performing a variety of customer service activities. The incumbents will assist customers in providing municipal services and respond to general inquires from both internal and external sources, via various channels; providing general information to the public. Work locations include Magna Centre and Ray Twinney Complex.

Job Requirements

  • Post-Secondary courses in Office Administration, Business Administration, Customer Service or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and demonstrated comfort level with the internet. Knowledge of Point of Sales (POS) as well as proven aptitude for the learning software applications.
  • Demonstrated skills with cash handling in an accurate manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively, tactfully and courteously with all levels of staff, the general public and program participants.
  • Good organizational skills, adaptability, and ability to coordinate and prioritize work. Previous experience requiring ability to multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of effective customer service techniques and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, public relations, communications, analytical and problem/complaint resolution skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends and overtime, as required.
  • Due to the responsibilities of this position a police information check satisfactory to the Town of Newmarket is required.
