Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Specialist to join our team. This role involves engaging with various audiences, conducting research, and producing high-quality written content. The ideal candidate will act as the Mission's primary advisor to the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), and Political Section on Canadian political events and both federal and provincial institutions. S/he provides in-depth political analysis and strategic advice to the Ambassador, the DCM, and Political Minister-Counselor on bilateral political issues affecting U.S. interests. The individual cultivates high-level relationships within Canadian government and academic institutions in order to elicit relevant information and drafts analytical reports on domestic political events for relevant offices within the U.S. Government drawing on detailed technical knowledge and nuanced language skills. The employee guides and manages the preparation and completion of Congressionally mandated reports on human rights, religious freedom, and trafficking in persons.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to gather relevant information for projects and reports
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all materials.
  • Write clear, engaging content for various channels.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate outreach efforts and ensure messaging aligns with organizational goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communication and marketing.

Skills

  • Excellent research skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven proofreading and editing expertise to produce polished content.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $92,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
