Reporting to the Chief Information Technology Officer, the IT Manager, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), is accountable for and will oversee the strategic direction and operational management of the team that supports the critical enterprise resource planning system, delivering innovative solutions, exploring and evaluating emerging technologies through experimentation and prototyping. As a member of the Information Technology Management Team, you will be expected to foster an inclusive leadership approach that promotes equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as psychological and physical safety. As a strategic decision-maker, you will possess political acumen and have experience in leading transformational change and fostering innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic roadmaps that align with corporate direction and IT's overall strategy.
As the IT Manager, ERP, you will lead a team that designs, develops, integrates and maintains the critical platforms and services used by Human Resources, Finance, Warehouse and Inventory, and Supply Chain Management where you will work collaboratively with partners in those core service areas. You will be responsible for delivering the priority work needed for the organization's strategic outcomes and lead the current ERP team while working to modernize the platform within the newly developed roadmap. Primary duties include:
- Support employees through mentorship, career and succession development, training, recognition of achievements, performance reviews, and health, safety and wellness.
- Collaborate with colleagues in core areas to ensure their strategic business objectives are being supported through technology.
- Leverage ERP governance to update progress, clarify direction and resolve conflicts.
- Engage employees to foster customer centricity, innovation, collaboration, and employee retention.
- Create and execute strategy for enterprise technology that considers the corporate technology plan, IT's overall strategy and impacts of external trends in relation to corporate direction.
- Develop business objectives, operational targets, financially sustainable business plans and success measures to deliver technology infrastructure that is reliable, available, secure, sustainable and supports current and future operations.
- Ensure all infrastructure is planned, monitored, supported and implemented within IT best practices and adheres to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
- Steward corporate technology and governance of technology requests.
- Evaluate strategic risks and resolve issues to ensure the achievement of business objectives.
- Present to Council, Council Committees, steering committees, departmental management teams and externally to other municipalities and associations. Serve as a media spokesperson.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related business-oriented field combined with at least 10 years of progressively more senior and diverse work experience, including at least 5 years of leadership experience managing leaders and major strategic project teams.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- A master's in business administration (MBA) would be an asset.
- Experience and success in creating and executing a strategic vision and direction for a complex organization or division, ideally in a service-based, technology environment is a preferred asset.
- Aligning with City corporate values, you will have demonstrated success in building, developing and leading strong teams, leading and managing change, developing and using metrics to improve organizational performance, deploying resources to achieve effective and efficient outcomes, and establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, partners, and/or elected officials.
