Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in data collection, analysis, and reporting, contributing to the advancement of our research initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic research environment and developing their skills in data management, critical thinking, and scientific communication.

Duties

  • Collect and organize data using appropriate tools and methodologies
  • Maintain accurate records of all research activities and data sets
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones are met efficiently
  • Assist in setting up field experiments (land preparation, staking, flagging, seed preparation)
  • Assist in data collection (biomass sampling, field notes, soil sampling, data entry)
  • Assisting with plot maintenance (fertilizing, pesticide application, harvesting)
  • Assisting with sample processing (weighing, drying, grinding)
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies during all research activities

Requirements

  • Full time degree or diploma student
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Enjoys working outside
  • Prior experience with research projects or laboratory work is a plus but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
