The Journey Manager is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members. 

As a Journey Manager your typical day will impact the following ways:


• Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.  


• Monitor the behaviour and condition of residents during programs. Document and report any significant changes to appropriate staff members. 


• Maintain Journey program and resident records according to department policy and the Journey framework.  


• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and implement any new policies and procedures as mandated by Labour Relations and Support Services Office.


• Remains current with ORCA standards and implements new processes as required. 


• Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs within the Journey framework. 


• Promote and raise awareness about Journey within the community, so that staff understand and can explain it to guests, families, residents and volunteers.

Must haves: 


• Have sound knowledge and experience in one-one/group program planning. 


• Ability to work independently and ability to manage time effectively.


• Ability to plan, implement, evaluate new ideas, resident programs and volunteer initiatives.


• Knowledge and/or experience in working with the geriatric population especially those with cognitive impairments.


• Minimum 3 years' experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or Retirement industry.


• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


• Fitness certification training.
