Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior P&C Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong engineering background who are ready to take ownership of complex projects and provide technical leadership. This position offers the opportunity to drive impactful initiatives in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The Senior Engineer will lead or strongly support the design, development, and execution of innovative engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and contribute to strategic planning and process improvements related to the design and execution of high-voltage substation projects. Your role will encompass the full project lifecycle—from conducting advanced power system studies and developing equipment specifications to support procurement and producing detailed design documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design:
- Develop protection single line diagrams
- Design system schematics, panel layouts, bill of materials, wiring diagrams and logic diagrams.
- Develop SCADA IO lists, network architectures, and time-synchronization architectures.
- Configure protection, control and automation equipment.
- Prepare conceptual designs, high-level cost estimates, and transition projects throughout the detailed design and As Built stage
- Perform studies such as load flow analysis, short circuit study, arc flash analysis, protection coordination study, and others.
- Perform review of junior engineer deliverables.
- Project Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with vendors and client during project lifecycle.
- Work closely with junior engineers to ensure scope and design alignment for overall project success.
- Work with management team in development of new solutions and implementations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
- Preferably registered or eligible for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD. Knowledge of Microstation is beneficial.
- Experience with ETAP is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to travel to substation sites as needed.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations is an advantage.
