Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to enhance their experience at the station
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for fuel sales, retail purchases, and transactions
  • Manage cash handling procedures with integrity and attention to detail
  • Upsell products such as snacks, beverages, car accessories, and convenience items to maximize sales opportunities
  • Conduct product demos when applicable to promote new or featured items
  • Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining an organized store environment
  • Perform regular inventory checks and restock merchandise as needed
  • Ensure the fueling area is clean, safe, and well-maintained by conducting routine inspections
  • Enforce safety protocols and communicate effectively with customers regarding pump operations and safety guidelines
  • Handle phone inquiries professionally using proper phone etiquette
  • Supervise or assist fellow team members when necessary, fostering a cooperative work environment
  • Provide basic math calculations for transactions and product measurements when required
  • Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and store policies at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with diverse customers in bilingual settings (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus
  • Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math techniques to manage inventory effectively
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately under pressure
  • Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
  • Familiarity with grocery store operations or convenience retail environments will be beneficial
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed
