- Location: This is a fully remote role open to candidates across Canada, except Quebec. If you're located in the Vancouver, BC Lower Mainland, you can choose to work remotely, on-site at our Surrey headquarters, or in a hybrid arrangement.
- Compensation: Annual base salary: $103,900 to $109,000 CAD, plus eligibility for a profit-sharing bonus. This salary range reflects our reasonable estimate for the role. Final compensation may vary based on your experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Integration / Backend Developer III
As a member of the Service Enablement Team, you will architect, develop, and maintain backend services and integrations that support internal collaboration and operational efficiency at Safe Software. You will take ownership of key systems, including integrations between Zendesk and Jira, Gainsight and Jira Product Discovery, a changelog automation pipeline, and a publishing pipeline for supported FME integrations on
You will also contribute to AI-driven initiatives, including the AI Triage Assistant for Jira Work Items. These projects help automate decision-making and improve the flow of information between departments.
This is a hands-on, backend-focused role for someone who enjoys solving integration challenges, optimizing service pipelines, and working across various SaaS platforms. Familiarity with tools like Postman for testing and debugging APIs is a strong asset.

About The Team
The Service Enablement Team (SET) is part of the Information Services department. We integrate data, tools, and processes to drive innovation, collaboration, and efficiency. Our systems connect departments and automate routine workflows, enabling Safe Software to scale effectively.
Our projects support nearly every part of the organization, from Customer Success to Product Development. We are a remote-first team distributed across Canada, and we value clarity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Integration / Backend Developer III, you will:
- Develop and maintain cross-platform integrations between systems such as Jira, Zendesk, Gainsight, and other SaaS platforms.
- Support and enhance key backend systems including the changelog automation pipeline for Jira and the publishing pipeline for supported FME integrations on
- Contribute to AI-driven automation initiatives like the AI Triage Assistant for Jira Work Items.
- Modernize legacy systems by refactoring code, improving observability, and transitioning fragile processes into robust, automated services.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration pipelines, ensuring system reliability and proactively resolving issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
Qualifications, Skills, And Competencies

What We're Looking For
- Experience building backend systems or integrations using or Python.
- Experience working with AI/ML-powered systems, especially in backend automation or data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in RESTful APIs, webhooks, and syncing data across cloud platforms.
- Experience deploying services in cloud environments (e.g., AWS Lambda, ECS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain backend services in production environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Typically 3–5 years of backend development experience.
Desired Skills / Bonus Points
- Experience integrating with SaaS APIs such as Jira, Zendesk, Gainsight, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with Postman for API testing and debugging.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript, SQL, or FME.
- Exposure to tools like OpenAI, LangChain, or vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
- Experience refactoring or modernizing legacy integrations or data pipelines.
