Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated On-Call Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) to support classroom activities and assist with the care and education of young children. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate varying needs and is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood development and working with children with diverse needs. The On-Call ECEA plays a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, supporting teachers, and ensuring positive learning experiences.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily classroom activities and lesson plans
  • Support children with their developmental, social, and emotional needs
  • Provide caregiving support, including feeding, diapering, and supervising children during play and rest times
  • Engage children in educational games, activities, and age-appropriate learning experiences
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Observe and document children's progress and behavior as directed by supervising staff
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and inclusive space for all children
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, including COVID-19 protocols when applicable

Qualifications

  • Prior classroom experience or work with children preferred
  • Experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
  • Strong teaching skills and the ability to engage young learners effectively
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Compassionate caregiving skills with patience and understanding
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with team members, children, and families
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and perform duties flexibly as an on-call staff member
