What you'll be doing

As the Director, Acquisition Channel Management, Digital Channels, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and execution of initiatives focused on acquiring new Chequing accounts and credit cards through all digital channels, including , paid media, SEO, targeted channels, partnerships, and affiliates. You will leverage your expertise and leadership to manage end-to-end digital acquisition offers, campaigns, and initiatives, ensuring CIBC remains competitive and innovative in the marketplace. As a key member of the Day-to-Day Banking Acquisition team, you will exercise independent judgment and thought leadership to deliver best-in-class client acquisition strategies and ensure CIBC's ongoing success in a dynamic digital environment.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategy and planning - You will contribute to the long-term strategy for the business in collaboration with the Senior Director and other business leaders. By performing in-depth analysis, you will identify opportunities, develop strategic proposals, and establish competitive strategies for Chequing and credit card acquisition. Your focus will be on improving sales, increasing business revenue and profitability, enhancing competitiveness, growing market share, and reducing operational costs. You will work closely with internal partners to oversee, communicate, and align business plans, ensuring delivery on strategic objectives and plans.

  • Leadership - In this role, you will lead and provide direction to members of the Day-to-Day Banking Acquisition team. You will oversee the development of options and proposals related to the evolution and enhancement of Chequing and credit card acquisition strategies and tactics, assessing the impact, effectiveness, and feasibility of proposed changes. You will be responsible for making authoritative recommendations and for the overall design, development, and implementation of new offers, campaigns, and acquisition plans. Your accountability will extend to planning and delivering enhancements for Chequing and credit card acquisition in digital channels across all client segments, as well as contributing to the creation of business cases for new initiatives and enhancements.

  • Relationship management - You will achieve business objectives by effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners to ensure alignment in the implementation of Chequing and credit card acquisition strategies. Your key partnerships will include Digital, Marketing, Technology, Risk Management, Finance, Legal and Compliance, other lines of business, and external business partners.

  • People management - As a leader, you will motivate and coach team members on an ongoing basis, identifying gaps and removing obstacles to performance while developing action plans that align with business priorities. You will foster a positive work environment and serve as a role model by championing CIBC's mission, vision, and values. You will ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls by applying them fairly and consistently, so employees understand expectations. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting and hiring the right people for the right roles, ensuring individual capabilities align with job requirements and business unit goals.

  • You can demonstrate extensive experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in financial services).  You have strong analytical, problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills sufficient to prepare and present material to an executive audience.
