Junior Estimator

Uni-Fab is a leading provider of custom aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel fabrications serving customers across North America. We specialize in precision fabrication, welding, and assembly of complex metal components.

We're seeking a Junior Estimator to join our Sales and Estimating team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while supporting the creation of accurate, timely quotes for our customers.

Position Overview

The Junior Estimator supports the estimating team by preparing cost estimates and quotations for custom fabricated products.

This position involves reviewing drawings, analyzing fabrication requirements, and maintaining organized estimate data. It's ideal for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings to determine materials and processes.
• Perform material take-offs and compile labour and cost data for estimates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate, consistent quotations under the direction of senior team members.
• Track and organize quotes, ensuring timely responses to customer requests.
• Collaborate with the team to improve estimating tools and templates.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of metal fabrication processes (cutting, welding, machining).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is an asset.
• Post-secondary education in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
