As a Ready-Mix Truck Driver with V.J. Rice Concrete Limited, your role is an integral one. Delivering ready-mix concrete makes you one of the many important faces of V.J. Rice Concrete, and without you, our clients' needs could not be fully met. Our Ready-Mix division serves HRM, and Western Nova Scotia, with permanent plants at Mount Uniacke, Kentville, Bridgetown, and Shelburne. As a Ready-Mix Truck Driver, you will have the opportunity to participate in new and innovative construction projects, witnessing the growth of Nova Scotia's infrastructure firsthand.
The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Safe operation of a Ready-Mix concrete truck
- Deal with customers in a respectful, professional manner
- Inspect product to ensure it meets project specifications
- Maintain daily logs and inspection sheets
- Obtain customer signatures, collect payment when necessary, and manage delivery paperwork
- Submit order sheets, inspection forms, and hours daily to management
- Evaluate site conditions and work with contractors to complete deliveries in a safe and efficient manner
- Keep truck thoroughly cleaned and orderly, and perform basic general maintenance as required
Perform plant and yard duties as assigned
Ability to meet company insurance program requirements
- Commitment to customer service
- Industry experience preferred
Candidate requirements: Valid commercial driver's license (Class 3) with air brakes endorsement
A team-oriented, positive attitude is vital to success in this position. With various locations, it will be necessary at times to travel between plants to complete company deliveries. As customer requirements dictate, overtime and occasional weekend work will be required. We offer a competitive hourly wage, an excellent group benefits package, and an industry-leading overtime program for this position.
