We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Virtualization Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee infrastructure planning and development, network performance monitoring, server configuration, and system improvement, ensuring efficient operations and stability.
Salary Range: 75-90K
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
- Conducts research and makes recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
- Monitors and analyzes network performance across the organization's LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments.
- Ensures the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks.
- Monitors system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
- Identifies and remedies network performance bottlenecks.
- Configures and troubleshoots servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
- Installs and configures all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on.
- Ensures network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
- Handles escalation of problems forwarded by team members either through resolution or coaching.
- Perform VMware vCenter and ESX upgrades and patching
- Actively looks for opportunities to improve system and application efficiencies.
- Develops and maintains system-related documentation to facilitate implementation and/or adoption of system changes
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, Firewalls, VPN, Routing and NAT'ing
- Experience with mid to large size server operations including daily operations and maintenance,
- Experience with project -based work such as migrations, upgrades
- Experience managing enterprise hardware (SANs, servers, etc)
- Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and managing server environments
- Proficient with Windows Server (including services – DNS, DHCP, etc), Active Directory, Exchange, RDS Server Farms
- Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools
- Strong experience with VMware; Clustering, Distributed Switches, vCenter, vRealize ops/log insights, vCloud Director, NSX, DRS, HA, vSAN
- Experience in migrating workloads to/from on-premises to VMware.
- Working knowledge with Azure.
- Experience working and managing blade servers.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
- Certifications that include ITIL, VMware and Microsoft MCSE are highly valued along with Fortinet NSE4 and NSE7.
