Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive caregiving, support with daily activities, and fostering a safe and respectful environment. Experience in senior care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with people with disabilities is highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing support with their daily routines.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Support patients with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing personal spaces
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Help clients with mobility exercises and physical activity as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to medical staff or supervisors
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia or hospice care when required
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety standards and protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, medication administration, and caregiving best practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient mobility or equipment handling
- Strong communication skills and compassion for working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring special care
- Basic skills in meal preparation and light cleaning are advantageous
- Certification in caregiving or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends if needed
- Valid driver's license may be required for certain roles involving travel between locations
