Responsibilities

  • Monitor premises through CCTV surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property, including entrances, exits, and restricted areas, to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
  • Manage access control by verifying identities of employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors; issue visitor badges and maintain access logs.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR if necessary.
  • Enforce loss prevention strategies by observing behaviors that may indicate theft or fraud and reporting findings accordingly.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during critical incidents to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Maintain detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security records accurately for future reference and compliance.

Requirements

  • Certification in first aid and CPR as asset
  • Valid security license a MUST
  • Knowledge of surveillance technology such as CCTV systems and experience with loss prevention techniques is an asset
  • Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, access control procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Excellent observational skills combined with attention to detail for effective patrols and incident detection.
