Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Brampton, ON, for a Development Support Worker. The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering their independence. Key tasks include providing emotional support, assisting with personal care as needed, implementing individualized support plans, and maintaining a safe and inclusive living environment. The worker will collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with individuals in care and their families.
Qualifications
- Experience in Support Work or caregiving, with a commitment to providing high-quality care
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to build trusting relationships and effectively interact with clients and team members
- Knowledge of Safeguarding practices to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in care
- Technical Support skills, such as documenting reports and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as required
- Familiarity with developmental disabilities and experience creating individualized support plans is an asset
- First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or relevant training preferred
