Position Details

We are looking for a
Mechanical Designer
to join our
Calgary
office. In this role, you will be working in a collaborative team on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction. You should be an experienced designer with an excellent track record and considerable technical knowledge. Creative thinking and a proactive attitude, along with strong communication, organizational and report writing skills, are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
  • System design calculations and equipment selections.
  • Preparation of contract drawings and documentation.
  • Project coordination with team designers and external design professionals
  • Comply with AME Quality Management standards and processes.

Key Skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Revit, IESve and HAP would be an asset.
  • Clear and concise communication, both orally and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 4 years (including co-op terms) of technical mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) experience.
  • Sustainable design certification (LEED, Certified Passive House Designer, etc.) or experience would be an asset.
