About This Role
We are looking for an experienced 12-month contract recruiter with a proven track record in the manufacturing and engineering sectors to join our team. This role will focus on acquiring top talent for manufacturing, engineering, and other corporate job openings across Canada and select U.S. locations on a remote basis. The ideal candidate will have industry knowledge, strong business acumen skills, and the ability to manage the full recruitment cycle for a diverse range of technical and non-technical roles. You must be confident in asserting your expertise, strategically guiding hiring managers, and influencing decisions to ensure the best hiring outcomes.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Full-Cycle Recruitment : Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for technical positions (such as Manufacturing Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, etc.) and non-technical positions (including Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Success, and other corporate positions).
- Relationship Building : Develop strong partnerships with hiring managers, drive recruitment timelines, hold stakeholders accountable, and ensure the hiring process progresses efficiently.
- Compliance & Reporting : Ensure all recruitment activities comply with company policies and employment laws, maintain accurate records, deliver reports to Talent Acquisition Manager on a weekly basis.
- Industry Expertise : Leverage your understanding of the manufacturing and engineering sectors to identify top talent and build strong talent pipelines.
- Adaptability : To be comfortable to shift from technical roles to non-technical roles, and understanding the unique qualifications and nuances for each position.
- Sourcing & Networking : Adjust your recruitment approach as needed, tailoring how and where you engage candidates to maintain a strong and effective talent pipeline.
- Application Tracking System : Applicant Tracking System knowledge; provide necessary support to hiring managers and other stakeholders to streamline its adoption.
- Candidate Experience : Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear communication, providing timely feedback, and guiding candidates through the recruitment process.
Early Career Recruitment : Support the coordination of group internship and co-op programs by partnering with hiring managers and academic institutions.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- 5+ years of recruitment experience, with a focus on the manufacturing and engineering.
- Strong understanding of the skills and qualifications required for roles in manufacturing.
- Ability to think strategically, influence hiring decisions, and partner effectively with hiring managers to achieve hiring goals.
- Strong Backbone - Advocating for best practices for candidates.
- Ability to manage diverse job requisitions, seamlessly shifting focus between technical and non-technical roles (e.g., engineering to procurement).
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems and ability work in multiple platforms (Oracle; LinkedIn and Indeed) at the same time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both candidates and hiring managers.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple requisitions (15 to 20) simultaneously.
Experience in project coordination, presentation making and market research is an asset.
Working Conditions :
This role is hybrid, with a professional office environment that requires the candidate to commute to our Brampton office three times a week.
