This is a Software Engineering Lead role with a strong delivery focus, operational mindset, and proven experience leading people and software development projects

What you'll do

The role is combination of operational delivery & engineering leadership in our Gaming Services Technology (GST) team. You'll be the driving force behind high-quality tech solutions that fuel our MAX business. More than a people manager, you'll be a mentor, strategist, and hands-on problem solver who inspires your team to innovate, automate, and continuously improve.

You'll own delivery outcomes, champion platform health, and guide your team to bring our GST tech to life – all while making sure compliance, security, and resilience are baked into everything we build.

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a cross-functional GST team of approximately 7-9 people – building capability, confidence, and careers.
  • Drive delivery excellence: from product roadmaps to enhancements, incidents, and everything in between.
  • Champion continuous improvement, automation, and agile ways of working.
  • Keep product and platform health front-and-centre, resolving root causes – not just symptoms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritise work, manage risk, and deliver on big initiatives.
  • Create a culture of inclusivity, growth mindset, and courageous conversations.
  • Ensure our products meet industry standards, security controls, and compliance obligations.

What you'll bring

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in supporting and operating complex, real-time and highly regulated 24/7 systems and platforms.
  • 5+ years' work experience in technology leadership roles with direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in agile ways of working and the ability to drive adoption within a team.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships across business and technology teams.
  • Experience in creating continuous delivery capability in teams
