Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Pharmacist to join our healthcare team, working Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time position in the future. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical pharmacy skills, experience with patient care, and familiarity with pharmacy software systems. The pharmacist will be responsible for providing expert medication management, patient assessments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. This position is perfect for a licensed pharmacist committed to delivering exceptional patient service in a dynamic clinical environment.

Duties

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards
  • Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and provide counseling on medication use
  • Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and verifying medication supplies
  • Prepare and compound medications following aseptic techniques and proper safety protocols
  • Administer immunizations and provide patient education on vaccine options and schedules
  • Utilize pharmacy software, EMR, and EHR systems to document patient interactions, prescriptions, and medical records
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers on medication management plans, including IV infusions and pain management strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies
  • Assist in training pharmacy technicians and supporting staff as needed
  • Participate in medical management activities related to pediatrics, critical care, or acute care settings if applicable

Skills

  • Licensed Pharmacist with experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles
  • Experience with compounding medications and aseptic techniques
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools
  • Familiarity with immunizations administration and IV insertion techniques
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to conduct thorough patient assessments
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols across various specialties including pediatrics and pain management
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Prior pharmacy residency or clinical pharmacy experience is highly desirable
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical management practices
