We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and provide leadership coverage in the Store Manager's absence.
Position Overview
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store, with a strong focus on staff leadership, customer experience, and operational execution. This role is essential to ensuring continuity, accountability, and smooth store operations when the Store Manager is not on site.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Support
Act as manager-on-duty during the Store Manager's days off or absence.
Support, coach, and supervise sales associates on the floor as well as the warehouse and website operations.
Handle day-to-day sales, staff questions, issues and customer escalations.
Reinforce company policies, procedures, and service standards.
Store Operations
Open and close the store as required.
Ensure merchandising standards and floor readiness are maintained.
Support scheduling coverage and communicate staffing needs.
Assist with inventory awareness, replenishment and loss prevention.
Customer Experience
Lead by example in delivering exceptional, consultative customer service and sales.
Resolve customer concerns professionally and in line with company guidelines.
Support high-value transactions (nursery furniture, strollers, car seats, etc.
Collaboration
Work collaboratively with the Store Manager, buyers, and office team
Maintain clear boundaries so buying, merchandising, and operational roles remain aligned.
Qualifications
3+ years of retail experience, preferably in specialty retail.
Prior supervisory or assistant management experience strongly preferred.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Ability to remain calm, organized, and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
Weekend availability required.
