Your Role:
We are currently seeking a Design Engineer Manager. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality design and engineering solutions. This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and strategic thinking to ensure the engineering team is aligned with company goals while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Responsibilities:
Technical Oversight
- Guide the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
Project & Delivery Management
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are on time and within scope.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize tasks.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and career development.
- Set clear goals and expectations, conducting regular performance reviews and feedback sessions.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
Process & Quality
- Define and refine engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with business leaders to align engineering initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Partner with recruitment teams to attract, hire, and onboard top engineering talent.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical I/C, Mechanical, Civil Structural)
- 10+ years of working experience in Engineering is considered an asset, ideally with 2-3 years in a leadership role
- Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng).
- Ability to balance hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities.
- Broad and extensive engineering and administrative experience.
- You will have exceptional communication skills (client relations, team project communications, and proposal and report development).
Compensation:
The expected annual compensation range for this position is $130,000 -$170,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining compensation, including but not limited to education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
Additional Information
A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law.
