As a Supplier Risk Manager, you will be a member of Supplier Management office and support RBC's Wealth Management (WM) platform. In this role, you will execute on supplier management activities, supporting the delivery of our Third-Party Risk (TPR) governance requirements. Key activities include but are not limited to stakeholder engagement of business partners and vendors, conducting cross-regional supplier reviews and other assessments, supplier spend analysis, business case development, supplier performance monitoring and reporting, as well as supporting various change and acquisition integration initiatives within WM's overall Supplier Management program.
What will you do?
- Support supplier governance and oversight activities throughout the third-party lifecycle by acting as a subject matter expert to ensure risks associated with the arrangement and service are fully assessed and documented in the supplier risk system.
- Communicate and lead change management activities to supports the rollout of enterprise policies and standards, processes, and tools.
- Identify and drive efficiencies and improvements across the supplier base.
- Lead with integrity and empathy while providing practical advice, considering regulatory and business objectives. This could include addressing business queries on supplier risk management activities, initiatives and third-party risk program.
- Develop relationships across global WM and other RBC Business Platforms, including procurement, supplier management offices and centers of governance.
- Manage or support projects related to supplier risk management activities.
- Partner with the 2nd Line of Defense in addressing requests related to third party supplier requirements from regulators (e.g. FRB, OSFI, etc.) and/or internal audits.
- Prepare ad hoc and/or scheduled third-party risk reporting as per guidelines.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Professional degree in Business/Finance, MBA and/or designation in Risk or PMP.
- 5+ years of experience in Supplier Risk/Risk Management, Operational Risk, Risk and Governance practices, Frameworks and methodologies
- Project and/or change management experience.
- Strong communication & collaboration skills with the ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
- Formidable critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness while navigating uncertainty
- Ability to manage through and influence at various levels, including senior management.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
Nice to Have
- Transformation experience in risk practices
- Issue management and remediation
- Prior experience within a Supplier Management Office or other Risk Management Department
- Understanding and knowledge of Third party risk management policy and standards, methodologies, best practices & audit requirements
