About the Role
Remitly is seeking a Senior Program Manager for the Remitly Business Team. In this role you will work with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Fraud/Risk, Ops, and Analytics, offering a rare opportunity of working on a new product ground up.
As a Senior Program Manager, you are responsible for improving the end-to-end customer lifecycle experience. This includes driving improvements from the initial sign-up process through to repeat transactions and post-submission support.. You will work on turning the compliance requirements from complex rules into simple, safe customer journeys. You'll define what every customer must pass vs. when to add extra checks for higher risk, then work with Product and Engineering to set clear verification thresholds for verification.
Before launch, you map downstream impacts, run hands-on testing and bug bashes, and define the process and training requirements. You keep fraud in check without slowing good customers. With Analytics, you stand up dashboards and alerts for conversion, pass/fail rates, false positives, and disputes; you run weekly reviews and drive fast, data-backed fixes. You also make operations smooth and scalable. You set simple SOPs, SLAs, and escalation paths, automate high-value manual steps, and plan support capacity with Ops so we are ready for launches and peaks. If you like building from scratch, owning outcomes end-to-end, and making a visible customer impact, this role is for you.
Improve the customer experience by identifying friction points, developing solutions and drive cross-functional execution to improve conversion, retention, and LTV.
Simplify compliance. Convert KYB/KYC/AML requirements into clear, scalable flows. Set explicit pass vs. step-up thresholds and only ask for extra information when needed.
Reduce manual work. Cut reviews and support contacts by finding root causes and automating high value steps. Shorten review times and lower sideline rates.
Keep fraud in check. Partner with Fraud and Analytics to monitor chargebacks and new patterns, tune controls to reduce false positives, and set market/feature fraud plans.
Improve payments reliability. Identify top drivers of payment errors, work with Payments to fix them, and reduce customer effort and rework.
Be data-driven. Dive deep across the funnel, analyze the data,, investigate anomalies, triangulate information, and turn findings into clear actions.
Ship with quality. Map downstream impacts, run UAT and bug bashes, and land changes with solid training, SOPs, SLAs, and clear escalation paths.
Build operating rhythms. Stand up dashboards and alerts (conversion, pass/fail, false positives, disputes, retention, LTV). Run weekly reviews and drive fast, data-backed fixes.
Plan for scale. Partner with Ops to forecast support capacity and staffing for launches and peaks.
5+ years of program/project management in tech; Experience in fintech/payments or similarly regulated, global environments preferable.
Payments know-how. Familiar with cross-border money movement (payout networks, FX, treasury/settlement, reconciliation, fraud/risk) preferable.
Data fluency. You define the right metrics, build/read dashboards, and use analysis to drive decisions and improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication. You write crisp docs and tailor your message for executives, engineers, and operations teams.
Experience in managing complex, cross-functional work, managed dependencies and risks, and influencing teams you don't manage.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $128,000- $150,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Your recruiter can share more information about medical benefits offered, as well as other financial benefits and total compensation components offered with this role.#LI-Hybrid
