Overview
The Catering Server is responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service during conferences, banquets, business meetings, and other hosted events. This position plays a key role in creating a professional and welcoming experience for guests while maintaining service standards and event timelines.
This role pays an hourly rate of $22.00-$25.00 CAD
Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matching
This position will remain open until April 10, 2026.
Responsibilities
Provide professional, courteous food and beverage service at catered events, banquets, meetings, and receptionsSet up and break down buffets, plated service, bars, and food stations according to event orders and floor plansServe food and beverages in accordance with service standards, timing, and presentation guidelinesAssist with table setting, including linens, china, glassware, flatware, and décor elementsMaintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the eventMonitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests, questions, and concernsFollow all food safety, alcohol service, and health & safety regulationsCommunicate effectively with captains, supervisors, culinary teams, and fellow serversAssist with replenishment of food and beverage stations during serviceClear tables, manage dishware, and support post-event cleanup and breakdownRepresent the organization in a professional, guest-focused manner at all timesPerform additional duties as assigned to ensure successful event execution
Qualifications
Previous experience in catering, banquets, restaurants, or hospitality is an assetStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-volume event environmentExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to follow service standards, timing, and supervisor directionComfortable performing plated, buffet, and reception-style servicePhysically able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbsProfessional appearance and attention to detailReliable, punctual, and maintains a positive, team-oriented attitudeFlexible availability, including evenings, weekends, early mornings, and event daysSmart Serve Certification (or willingness to obtain)
