Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Manager to oversee daily operations in a remote industrial food service environment in Northern Ontario. The site is located outside of Thunder Bay and accommodations are provided on site. The position is rotation in nature. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, food costs, managing inventory, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation. The Food Service Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring operational excellence across all facets of the establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise food service staff
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Manage food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and proper food handling procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste while meeting operational needs.
  • Enforce compliance with health regulations and safety protocols within the restaurant environment.
  • Supervise restaurant cleanliness, organization, and overall ambiance to enhance guest experience.
  • Assist in developing menus, promotional strategies, and special event planning as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or food service supervision, with strong leadership capabilities in team management.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team successfully.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations including food industry best practices, hospitality standards, and kitchen procedures.
  • Previous hotel or barista experience is considered a plus but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
