About the Role:

Seeking an experienced 
IP Resident Engineer
 with strong hands-on expertise in
Nokia router platforms and IP protocols
. This on-site role involves 
working
 
directly with customer teams
 to support network strategy, design, deployment, optimization, and lifecycle management. The position requires deep technical understanding, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in a highly consultative environment.
Candidate must be based in Canada.

Candidate Must Have:

  • Solid hands-on experience with 
    Nokia 7750 SR Routers
  • Experience with 
    Nokia 7705
     and 
    Nokia 7250
     router platforms
  • Strong proficiency in 
    IP protocols
     (routing, switching, security, QoS, MPLS, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop network architecture and service designs
     aligned with customer requirements.
  • Produce 
    detailed network implementation and migration plans.
  • Configure Nokia IP equipment and services across 7750, 7705, and 7250 platforms.
  • Perform 
    testing, troubleshooting, and support during various deployment stages.
  • Audit and assess customer networks for performance, scalability, manageability, and security.
  • Formulate network management and optimization strategies.
  • Create and review technical documentation including Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Prepare technical documentation and provide customer training.
  • Provide optimization recommendations and support customer readiness, acceptance, and migration activities.
  • Work closely with customer and internal teams, maintain strong relationships, and support occasional maintenance-window events.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be based in Canada.
  • 4–6 years of IP engineering or Nokia router experience.
  • Strong understanding of 
    IP, routing, switching, MPLS, QoS, and network security.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Bachelors in Telecommunications, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Nokia SRC certifications preferred (NRS I/NRS II/SRA).
  • Ability to work full-time on-site with the customer in Ottawa.
