New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking Digital Services Developer (Drupal) to support an eServices platform. This role requires a highly skilled individual with proven experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting complex digital services using Drupal and related technologies.

The Digital Services Developer will work closely with leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful planning, execution, and delivery of accessible, secure, and user-focused online services.

Responsibilities:

Digital Service Development

  • Design and develop bilingual (English/French), accessible (WCAG 2.2 AA), and responsive websites and applications.
  • Implement iterative, data-driven development processes across the full lifecycle (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live).
  • Ensure compliance with digital standards, security, and privacy requirements.

Drupal Development and Theming

  • Convert wireframes and mock-ups into functional Drupal themes.
  • Apply standard themes and branding to new and existing digital services.
  • Support multi-site functionality and optimize platform performance.

System Integration and Technical Architecture

  • Implement and support integrations between Drupal and other systems using REST API or JSON:API.
  • Contribute to technical architecture design, resiliency strategies, and cloud migration planning.

Maintenance and Support

  • Provide ongoing technical support, including patches, hotfixes, and system updates.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for support and iteration.

Content and Data Management

  • Audit and migrate content between CMS platforms or Drupal versions.
  • Support data analysis, ETL processes, and develop visualizations for open data initiatives.

Training and Documentation

  • Deliver training for end-users, administrators, and content creators.
  • Develop user manuals and support materials.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in web development, with a focus on Drupal (versions 9/10; familiarity with upcoming Drupal 11 is an asset).
  • Proven experience in building accessible, responsive, and bilingual digital services.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Experience with Linux-based environments (Ubuntu), Apache/Nginx, and caching technologies (Redis).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), Git-based source control (GitHub/GitLab), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and privacy/security compliance.
  • Experience with API development and integration (REST, JSON:API).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in iterative, Agile environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Drupal development, accessibility, or security are considered assets.
