This role will focus on managing and optimizing our Azure cloud infrastructure, specifically targeting data lake application and platform operations. You will work with cutting-edge technologies like Azure Databricks to enhance our data operations and ensure seamless data accessibility for our global teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the Azure cloud infrastructure for data lake operations, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Oversee the operation of the Global Wealth and Asset Management data lake applications with ingestion, curation a process running on the Azure platform
  • Oversee the platform operations and automation for different Azure components like Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Key Vault, ADLS, and Unity Catalog, ensuring operations resiliency.
  • Automate key operation activities by leveraging AI components and build automation for alerting and monitoring to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide engineering and analytical support for building, developing, and deploying data models.
  • Provide platform operations support to build, develop and automate more platform activities.
  • Collaborate with end consumers to build a robust consumption model for querying and connecting to the data lake using Databricks connectors and other tools.
  • Develop and enforce controls and processes for best practices, ensuring compliance and supporting audit evidence requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data operations, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data operations processes and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in data operations and cloud infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing and optimizing Azure cloud infrastructure in data operations or a similar role, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and data lakes.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud services primarily Azure Databricks with a strong understanding of unity catalog.
  • Experience with automation tools and AI components to streamline operations, including alerting and monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages used in data analysis and operations.
  • Knowledge of RACI, incident, change, and problem management methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in implementing controls and processes for audit compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Terraform for infrastructure as code practices
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience with AI tools for process efficiencies
  • Hands on experience with various end user tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Informatic

Salary range is expected to be between

$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD
