Body Technician

The Body Technician will be responsible for the repair, replacement, and realignment of damaged truck and trailer components. This includes structural and cosmetic repairs, welding, fabrication, and surface preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience working on heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural and non-structural repairs on heavy-duty trucks and components.
- Repair or replace damaged panels, frames, fenders, and body parts on heavy trucks.
- Weld, cut, and fabricate metal parts as needed for proper fit and finish.
- Applying Bondo for repair.
- Align frames, panels, and components to manufacturer specifications.
- Grind, sand, and fill surfaces to prepare for painting and refinishing.
- Work collaboratively with estimators, painters, and shop supervisors to ensure timely repairs.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
- Straightening damaged panels.
- Fiberglass repair for can panels.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck or automotive body repair.
- MIG/Spot welding, metal straightening, and body filler application.
- Strong understanding of frame and panel alignment.
- Ability to read repair estimates and work orders.
- Familiarity with heavy truck components and materials.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- WHMIS and safety training considered an asset.
- Fiberglass application.
- Bondo application.
