technical leadership
for utility-scale renewable power generation projects—including
solar, wind, and battery storage (BESS)

In this senior role, you will oversee
high-voltage (HV) electrical systems
and manage critical sub-components such as transmission lines and substations, ensuring seamless
interconnection to utility power grids
. Your expertise will drive
innovation, reliability, and compliance
in the development of next-generation renewable energy infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Lead design, construction, and commissioning of HV systems; support Generator Interconnection Agreements (GIAs) with utilities, ISOs, and RTOs.
  • Review and optimize HV/MV substation, collection, transmission line, and equipment specifications (transformers, breakers, switchgear, BESS, etc.).
  • Conduct/review power system studies (power flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protection coordination, grounding) ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  • Act as the
    technical interface
    between internal teams, EPC contractors, consultants, and equipment vendors.
  • Support procurement by developing bid packages, reviewing vendor submittals, and optimizing equipment sourcing.
  • Provide expert oversight during construction and commissioning, including acceptance testing and integration.
  • Contribute to project reporting and achievement tracking, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Who You Are

  • University degree in Engineering;
    P.Eng. (Canada) or PE (US)
    required, with preference for Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of progressive technical and leadership experience (10–15 years preferred).
  • Direct experience in
    utility-scale power systems design, integration, and interconnection
    across North American ISOs.
  • Strong mix of
    field and office experience
    .
  • Collaborative, value-driven mindset balancing technical rigor with cost, schedule, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Excellent communication skills to lead cross-functional and external partner meetings.
  • Valid driver's license (motor vehicle check required).

Working Conditions

  • Office-based with some field work.
  • Travel: ~10% (up to 25% during peak project phases).
