Yard Labourer

Overview

The Yard Labourer is responsible for handling scaffolding equipment, loading and unloading to arrange products and packaging in a productive, safe, error free, and time sensitive manner. The Yard Labourer will ensure freight is loaded/unloaded according to in house procedure. Key responsibilities of the role include preparing loads, processing gear, offloading containers, and cycle counting inventory. The ideal candidate for this role is prepared for all weather conditions as it is an outdoor position.

Daily Duties:

Assist Operations manager/ Yard Supervisor with:

• Preparing customer orders ensuring the exact number and product types are loaded according to company procedures
• Loading or unloading trucks/containers according to company procedures
• Re-piling products in racks to be stored
• Accurate cycle counts
• Maintain a clean, organized yard by implementing daily housekeeping
• Participate in safety meetings
• Assist forklift operator with various duties

Additional duties:

• Annual inventory
• Special projects
• Occasional overtime hours, as required
• Other related duties as required or assigned

Must have requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1-2 years of warehouse or similar experience
• Minimum valid g2 license with transportation
• Must own steel toe safety boots

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
