Member Advisor

One Year Contract

Woodstock, NB

The Member Advisor is the first point of contact for members, and is responsible to create and maintain strong member relationships through the delivery of our member advice experience. Service may be related to cash and deposit products; processing financial transactions including daily balancing of cash and transactions; responding to member inquiries; and assisting members in utilizing credit union products and services. The position will also be responsible to analyze customer needs and foster business development through effective communication, product knowledge, promotion, cross-selling and referrals.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Sales, Service & Growth

  2. Conduct a wide range of financial transactions while accurately balancing cash drawers and daily records.

  3. Manage ATM and night depository deposits; investigate and resolve cash discrepancies.
  4. Process debit and credit card applications in accordance with credit union policies.
  5. Deliver exceptional account support by explaining services, addressing inquiries, and assisting with account changes.
  6. Resolve member concerns and account discrepancies professionally, escalating complex issues as needed.
  7. Actively promote and cross-sell credit union products and services based on member needs.
  8. Stay current with marketing campaigns and actively participate in promotional initiatives.
  9. Assess individual member financial needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  10. Refer complex requests or specialized services to the appropriate internal teams.
  11. Support the achievement of branch and individual sales goals.
  12. Maintain a strong understanding of credit union products, services, and competitive offerings.
  13. Identify and recommend opportunities for improving service delivery and operational efficiency.

  14. Risk Management & Compliance

  15. Adheres to security procedures as they relate to the position.

  16. Acts as joint custodian on assigned combinations; securely maintains branch and member records.
  17. Ensures that cash is within the required limits of the credit union policies and procedures.
  18. Adheres to the Government of Canada Proceeds of Crime, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, ensuring compliance with the policy and procedures.
  19. Reviews Risk Management policies and procedures (including but not limited to robbery, money laundering, privacy and branch security) on an annual basis.

The ideal candidate will have completed a High School diploma plus 1 year experience with cash including:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of products and services.
  • Skilled in sales, promotion, and making referrals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiar with compliance, privacy, and financial regulatory requirements.
