What You Will Do:

This Billing Co-op Student role supports the billing department by assisting with the preparation, review, and issuing of bills for residential, small commercial, and retail utility accounts. Responsibilities include reviewing billing data, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining records in billing and financial systems. This role provides hands-on experience with utility billing operations, data analysis, and administrative support in a professional office environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Run daily processes including meter reading load, Statement Of Mailing/Indicia Files, and water reading files.
  • Run, evaluate and analyze discrepancies from system generated billing reports.
  • Accurately calculate, prepare, review and bill electric residential, small commercial, and retail accounts in a timely manner.
  • Perform all duties ancillary to the efficient production of accurate customer bills.
  • Carry out all work in accordance with corporate and billing policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other Billing Functions as required.

What You Will Bring

  • Enrollment in a College/University program in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Eligible for a co-op or internship term through your institution.
  • Proficient use in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Works well independently
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
