SNMC Albushra Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Homeroom Teacher to join our growing school community. The ideal candidate brings strong classroom experience, a deep commitment to Islamic values, and a genuine love for nurturing young learners. The Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for creating a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment, guiding students academically and spiritually, and working closely with parents and school staff to support each child's growth and success.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.
  • International students are not eligible.
  • Possess a valid social insurance number (SIN) at the start of employment.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada according to provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Ontario curriculum standards and Al Bushra's vision and values.
  • Teach a full range of subject areas, including English, Islamic studies, mathematics, science, social studies, and more.
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of students, including report cards, progress reports and marking.
  • Establish a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment reflective of the school's values.
  • Tailor lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and educational initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • An undergraduate post-secondary degree (Bachelor's or equivalent)
  • Experience in an educational setting
  • Passion for teaching and motivating students in an Islamic educational setting.
  • Ability to plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to contribute positively to school culture and shared goals
  • Strong sense of teamwork, flexibility, and mutual support among staff
  • Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, equitable, and student-centered school environment
  • Knowledge of Islamic teachings, and values
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check and First Aid/CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • A valid teaching certificate
  • Experience in Islamic education, weekend/after-school programs, or Islamic schools
  • A master's degree in educational or a related field
