We are devoted to making "Safety… Our Way of Life".Summary:Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Haul Truck Operator is responsible for the operations of equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner according to the scope of the project and the work being performed. The operator will also keep clean and maintain the equipment and comply with all policies and procedures in the operation and securement of the equipment. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing. In addition, this position may require the successful completion of client training and a competency assessment. Key Focus: Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload materialsConduct pre-operational checks on equipment and keep the truck cleanMust be able to work shift rotations; days and nightsMust be dependable and reliableRequired to comply with all road regulations on siteBe alert to risks or threats in order to prevent losses before they occurGive proper care to the operation and maintenance of the equipmentReport all damage of the equipment to the Team LeaderKnowledge and Skills Required:Minimum one (1) year of experience operating Caterpillar 777, 785, 789, 793, 797, Komatsu 980 is requiredOil and Gas industry experience is considered an assetHigh school diploma or GED equivalent is requiredCollege or industry courses in heavy equipment operating is considered an assetRetention of a valid class five (5) driver's license and clean drivers abstract is required - please submit abstract when applyingValid CSO or BSO or combination of CSTS and OSSA is requiredAbility to speak, write and read English is requiredLPS training is considered an assetMust be legally eligible to work in CanadaThese are full time positions located north of Fort McMurray, ABWork Schedule: 6 on, 6 off schedule; 3 days and 3 nights (Must be eligible to work on Syncrude site)NOTE: Camp / Flight accommodations is NOT provided.What we offer:Highly competitive salaries100% Company paid group benefits including Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Dependent Life, Critical Illness, LTD, Health, Dental, Employee and Family Assistance Program, and a Health Spending Account.The opportunity to make a differenceRewarding and engaging atmosphere where you see your contribution at work and be encouraged to grow in your career.Work-life balance; we know our people have places to go, people to see and good times to have and we support thatFort McKay Group of Companies is a growing oilfield and Construction Company which is 100% owned and controlled by the Fort McKay First Nation in Alberta, Canada.
