About CTA

The College of Technology Alberta (CTA) is located on Treaty Six Territory, a traditional gathering site of Indigenous communities. CTA delivers high-quality, career-focused post-secondary programs aligned with industry needs and accredited by the Ministry of Advanced Education.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Child Care Instructor & Curriculum Developer to teach Early Learning and Child Care courses and develop curriculum that meets Alberta Child Care Staff Certification standards and provincial frameworks. This role ensures students gain practical skills and knowledge for a career in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Early Learning and Child Care courses (on-campus, online, or hybrid)
  • Develop and update course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments
  • Align curriculum with Alberta standards, FLIGHT framework, and national occupational standards
  • Mentor and guide students, providing feedback and academic support
  • Participate in program reviews, quality assurance, and compliance activities
  • Collaborate with academic leadership and faculty teams

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Alberta Child Care Level 3 (or equivalent) Certification required
  • 3–5 years of experience in licensed child care or early learning settings
  • Teaching or curriculum development experience preferred

Work Environment

  • Classroom, online, and hybrid teaching
  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required
