Background.

RMF Design and Manufacturing Inc. is a contract electronic design and manufacturing company.

We design and manufacture custom electronic boards and devices sold by our customers.

We were founded in 1983, and our quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.

Our design team is growing. We are looking for an Electronic Hardware/Firmware Design Engineer to join our team and help us design and prototype microprocessor based embedded applications for medical, transport and machine control applications. We will teach you how to be a world class electronic design engineer.

Duties.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out the following activities.

  1. Act as a project captain for the design and prototype of embedded products
  2. Meet with clients to determine client requirements
  3. Design in accordance with appropriate medical, industrial and commercial safety standards
  4. Prepare a conceptual design for microprocessor based embedded products including hardware and firmware
  5. Consult with clients to obtain client approvals at different stages of product development
  6. Prepare circuit schematics and Bill Of Materials using ALTIUM
  7. Prepare simple mechanical drawings using AUTOCAD
  8. Program GALS and FPGAs
  9. Design and document firmware
  10. Write firmware in C
  11. Document and test firmware
  12. Prepare Circuit board artwork using ALTIUM
  13. Test prototype boards
  14. Keep within budgets and delivery deadlines
  15. Follow our company's ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality procedures.

Qualifications

1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar

2. Familiarity with microprocessors, and C language

3. Familiarity with GALS and FPGAs

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

5. Ability to manage a development project

Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour
