Senior Line Cook

Job Purpose:
This person plays a key role in surpassing guest expectations and providing an incredible culinary experience that inspires guests to keep coming back for more. The Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality, delicious food in a thoughtful, consistent, and timely manner according to Pearle Hospitality's high standards and understand the organization's dedication to producing delicious food made from quality ingredients and cooking with conviction.
Key Accountabilities:
- Execute high-quality, consistent, and delicious dishes that reflect the Cambridge Mill's culinary standards and Pearle Hospitality's commitment to excellence.
- Lead by example in maintaining strong kitchen performance during service — ensuring timing, plating, and quality standards are upheld.
- Demonstrate exceptional knife skills and advanced cooking techniques across all stations.
- Support the Chef team in daily prep lists, station organization, and smooth line execution during peak service.
- Support junior cooks in proper cooking methods, station setup, and Pearle Hospitality standards.
- Actively participate in menu development discussions, offering creative ideas that align with seasonal ingredients and guest expectations.
- Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and storage practices are always maintained.
- Uphold all Health & Safety and food handling regulations to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment for all team members.
- Represent and promote Pearle Hospitality's core values through teamwork, professionalism, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Maintain a professional appearance and act with integrity, honesty, and respect at all times.
- Accept and perform additional duties as required to ensure the overall success of the kitchen and restaurant operations.
What we would like you to bring to the position:
· Food Handler Certification
· WHMIS Certification
- Communication: Listen attentively to direction from Executive Chef and Sous Chef and communicate with other Cooks to ensure meal components are being produced on time and to standard.
- Adaptability: Ability to remain poised and professional in a fast-paced environment and positively interact with a variety of diverse guests and team members.
- Attention to detail: Produce menu items to expectations of guests and remain mindful of any specific accommodations noted for the dish, including any allergies or dietary restrictions.
- Positive attitude: Exhibit a passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn from kitchen leaders and other team members.

Compensation:
Compensation for this role is estimated at $26.50/hour, which includes a base wage of $23/hour plus direct tips from guests. Tip amounts are paid directly by guests and are expected to average approximately $3.5/hour, though actual amounts will vary depending on factors such as guest volume and seasonality. While tips are not guaranteed, they can be a meaningful part of overall earnings in this position.
